Craigslist! In your room. Technology subwoofer has not changed much over the years. For example, you can get an infinite 200Watts powered by its own amplifier and outputs for speakers secondary for about a dollar for a dollar and a half. I personally prefer a high use of the line under that of a new sub OK for the same price. hope this helps.
