pager plans
if I wasn't paid for additional work …?
My job requires that I take with me a pager after hours for one week every three weeks. we get paid a certain sum for our "extra time", but the check was not included because someone "forgot" to give the department payroll. I do not think I would have to pay for someone else mistake. I know I'll be on call so i plan and budget for this money. I need to deal with my boss, but can not think of a diplomatic way to say that I am very angry … can someone help some?
All you need do is simply show your check stub to your supervisor, and politely say that there is a mistake because your salary was not included guard. A quick check of the schedule to check you were to call for this week and they should be able to resolve the problem and pay what is owed to you. If they say it will included in your box, then simply say that your budget is dependent on that money and ask them to cut you a check now. Mistakes happen, you Just say so and I'm sure they'll fix it as soon as you remain calm and professional about it.
