Someone in the United States continue to use beepers / pagers?
Someone in the United States continue to use buzzers / Pagers? The reason I ask is because I left the U.S. in 1996, and at the time, they were huge. Everyone had Motorola pagers, and newer can display a line of text and numbers. When I came back here in Australia in 1996, nobody had beepers – mobile phones instead were much more popular. I wonder if they still enjoy the same popularity that there they did before? I wanted to add – doctors, EXC. In addition, even then, I do see how it could be necessary. Would a mobile Silent serve the same purpose?
Pagers are still popular with physicians because they may be left in places where a phone cell should be switched off. Not much call for them other than if.
