Can I use an iMac install disk of Leopard on my MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo?
My friend gave me two disks installed Leopard who came with his iMac. The first disc is labeled "iMac (obviously). That said, I tried installing Leopard on my MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz). A message emerged telling me I could not install it on my computer. Is it possible, possibly using Disk Utility, to bypass this and still install Leopard on my MBP?
No. Apple makes hardware specific install packages for different lines of computers, they are not the same and also have detection equipment as part of the installation verification launch. He will not go on your MacBook Pro or something else, otherwise another iMac which is the same age or newer than the iMac to your friend.
