new camera (manual)-need-Light meters HELP?
Ok, so I took a manual Minolta camera with the back, nice belt, holster skin, large lens and flash in a garage sale for my class photo, the question is, when you use the light meter, which reads "M" on top ( red), then there is a red mark on the shutter speed and im under a red flag in the aperature im using. (The meter is on the side so that I can see what aperature and I am a shutter speed in viewfinder). It's all red and I can not say anyhting I get is more than 'M'. Anyone know what "M" means? or is the camera only boken PS no manual came with it. It's a Minolta X-370
Its good camera Minolta has a model number … we know what is and we will help you better. The camera may need a new battery for the light meter to work. The "M" may be saying that the battery is dead. Uses a mercury battery that was banned for many years, so you'll have to find a replacement. Until then you can use the "sun 16" rule … 1/ISO film is used in f/16 in bright sunshine. Http://www.photobattery.com/zincair.html there is a red mark next to the distance index lenses focus which is where "re-focus" if you were using infrared film.
