What do I really need Blu-ray over PS3?
Looking at an upscale 120 Hz, 1080p, 25000:1 and TV is tempting, but I'm looking for the price tag of $ 3,000 and I am wondering is it really worth? Will I notice a difference between say a $ 2000 television? Because If I crazy for $ 3000 I will not be able to get a home theater system, What's more important? Basically, I really want a solid TV for Blu-ray and PS3. I have a rear projection TV right now thats capable of 1080i (its a few years old). What the least I need to go to do not regret my purchase in the next few years? Resolution: (I presume 1080p) Refresh Rate: (120 Hz is really necessary?) Contrast: (I'm guessing on 10000:1 is good?)
I have a 46 – inch Sony Bravia XBR 4 with cooling 120 Hz and it is great, but to tell you the truth I do not want to break the bank to 120Hz if you can not afford it. It is very difficult to distinguish its effects for the average viewer. You can exchange the XBR4 down to more or less $ 2,400 for most retailers but try tat perhaps. Or you could have a decent 1080p setup using something like the Vizio 1080p LCD HDTV VU42LF inch-42 that I could go for less than $ 1,000 on a sale buy.com a few weeks ago. Then you can afford to spring for the Onkyo receiver Nice to 7.1 surround sound? Add a few HDMI cables and you want to be together for less $ 2,000! Good luck.
